Glossier first announced their limited edition holiday set, I nearly lost my shit. Anything that Glossier puts out, I need but this time it was much different. Not only did they release one of my favorite products in a brand new shade, but they also came out with some new items! Brand new makeup items that have never been previously released by Glossier. I'm talking about nail polish, eyeliner, and a clear lip gloss that will bring you back to the early 2000's. All of the products in the chic Black Tie Set are meant to help you achieve an easy and glowy party look. And let me tell you, the products inside of the box are as beautiful as the presentation itself.
those things that you often see in front of used car lots). In this post I'm going to show you how I style my favorite denim jacket with more denim and some pretty dorky pins.
Warby Parker goes waaay back to even before I began this little beauty blog, I began following them around 2011 when I was just 21. Once I started my blog they became the very first brand to reach out to me to see if I wanted work with them (you can read that post here). From the moment I tried out their home try-on program in 2013 and learned more about their ethos, I knew this brand was truly special. It's no secret that Warby Parker revolutionized the way we shop for glasses, but for me they were the brand that opened my mind and allowed me to see glasses as more than just a boring and expensive life necessity. I currently own two pairs of Warby Parker frames (a pair of eyeglasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses) and I'm looking to expand my Warby Parker collection so I decided to try out some new frames. This time around I paid close attention to the measurements of each frame to make sure that each frame was going to suit my face.
Sephora VIB Sale! Alright... Maybe I'm hyping up this sale a bit too much, but ask any beauty addict and they'll tell you all the items in their Sephora VIB Sale wishlist. Although the discount isn't jaw dropping, I'll gladly take 20% off on brands that pretty much never go on sale. This time around your girl decided to treat herself in quite a big way. I've always taken advantage of this sale, but this time around I have more money to spend on myself so I did just that. I picked up a few incredible gift sets, bought a few favorites in new shades, and even got a few new items to try out. The sale may be over by now, but if you missed out then this is your chance to build up that Christmas wishlist of yours.
Last month I predicted that October might be the month that could turn this year around and well... I can safely say that it definitely gave me a brand new outlook on life. This last month was so enjoyable and it allowed me to have so much fun. First of all, my new job at bareMinerals has been absolutely incredible! This last month I also got the opportunity to make new friends and reconnect with one of my oldest friends. As far as makeup goes, I had so much fun playing with more colorful looks thanks to the Juvia's Place The Nubian 2 palette which I recently used in a tutorial. I'm feeling more and more like my old self as time goes on, which is definitely a really good thing.
After uploading my Top 5 Eyeshadow Palettes post, the requests to recreate my makeup started pouring in on Snapchat and Instagram. I honestly didn't think anyone would comment on my eyeshadow look, but little did I know that you guys were going to love it. This is a much different makeup than what's been circulating on YouTube, so I can definitely see the appeal. For this look I decided to play with plum and pumpkin tones, aka two fall basics. I don't think many people would think of pairing plum tones with a "pumpkin spice" type of color, but I personally think the both colors look amazing together. All the eyeshadows used for this look come from the incredibly affordable Juvia's Place The Nubian 2 palette which I've been obsessed with as of late.
Hourglass. This year's palette includes a universally-flattering powder, bronzer, two blushes, and a highlighter. Not only are the powders stunning, but so it the beautiful marbled packaging. Being the marbled obsessed blogger that I am, I nearly lost my shit when the promotional images started appearing all over my Instagram feed. I honestly wonder why a brand hadn't tapped into the marbled obsession sooner, but leave it up to Hourglass to create an elegant looking palette for the holidays.
Sephora (as any girl who's obsessed with makeup does) and proceeded to spend over an hour walking around and swatching items. I went into Sephora with absolutely no intention of buying a foundation but then a certain powder foundation caught my eye. I will completely honest with you when I say that the Sephora Collection makeup hasn't really appealed to me much, but something about the Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation really made me think twice. I literally had to go on the Sephora app to look up reviews and once I saw the near to perfect score, I went ahead and purchased it. If you're someone who's lazy or doesn't like a complicated makeup routine, then you better listen up!
Nuxe is one of the wonderful French skincare brands that I was lucky enough to discover when I was studying abroad in Paris. I'm sure you've heard me rave about the Rêve de Miel Lip Balm one too many times before. That is my holy grail lip balm and it's one of the most irreplaceable products in my skincare routine. In fact that's been my go-to lip balm for almost 5 years now, so that's goes to show how much I love and trust Nuxe as a skincare brand. Apart from the lip balm, Nuxe is also known for their famous (dare I say iconic) Huile Prodigieuse. There wasn't a French pharmacy that I would walk into where I wouldn't see bottles among bottles of that beautiful gold oil. Well if you're a fan of the Huile Prodigieuse, then you might want to look into the Crème Prodigieuse range. In this post I'm going to be talking about the Crème Prodigieuse Eye Cream which has replaced all my other eye creams and is now that only thing I use in the day and at night.
Birchbox has me completely covered! This month's theme was reviving and restoring products, which is absolutely perfect for me since the air in San Diego has been drying my skin quite a bit. I was very excited when I saw a Tata Harper product as a sample choice, so I went ahead and got it. I feel like I've been hearing a lot about Tata Harper skincare products a lot as of late, so you can imagine how excited I am to see if her products live up to the hype. I also got a product from a brand that I've been very curious about in this month's box.
Dollar Tree, show how each product applies, and also how they wear throughout the day.
Walmart Beauty Box. After the disappointing summer box and the disappearance of the spring box, there really wasn't much to be excited for. And I know the box is $5 but it takes time to record and edit even a simple unboxing video and that's time that I felt like I wasted when I opened the summer box. This time around everything went smoothly though, I got my email notifications and my box was shipped quite quickly. It seems like Walmart Beauty is getting their shit together and putting a bit more effort into their subscription service.
POPSUGAR is no exception. I've been a fan of the #MustHaveBox box for a bit because it'll completely take you by surprise with the variety of products that they send out. You can get anything from beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and health products that you might have never tried before. And the best thing? Most of the (if not all) the items are full sized! The September box was one of the best subscription boxes I've ever opened, period. And the box itself was valued at $146.98!! Not a bad deal considering that a few of the products cost almost as much as the $39.95 box itself.
Birchbox! The company is celebrating their 6th year helping women and men discover new brands and products. To celebrate their anniversary, Birchbox teamed up with Milk Makeup (my fave brand at the moment) to give each subscriber one Milk Makeup product. You can only imagine how happy I was about this! Not only did they team up with one of my favorite brands, but Birchbox decided to throw in some very generous sized samples in this month's box. I know I've said this before, but I think this may be the best Birchbox I've ever gotten. I'm not even kidding, it was GOOD!
Playing With New Makeup video, so I'm going to make it a regular thing on my channel! I think I'll be recording these videos instead of doing a standard makeup haul where I just talk about the products. I figured that this is 10x more helpful than a haul since you actually get to see how the products perform and look on my face. This time around I'm going to be playing with the highly anticipated Bite Beauty Multisticks and a pricey quad from Le Métier de Beauté. I will be walking you through a tutorial just like I did last time and talking a bit about each product along the way.
Kam Dhillon Ariana frames come into play. These frames are from Coastal, an online glasses and contacts retailer with a huge variety of frames at a very reasonable price. This was actually my very first time ordering a pair from Coastal so I'm going to walk you through the ordering experience, as well as my opinions about these gold beauties.
products lazy girls before on the blog, but the ultimate products for lazy girls are definitely stick products. In this post I'm going to be sharing some of my favorite makeup products that conveniently come in stick form, so they're easy to use and very travel-friendly. These are swipe, dab, and go type of products that don't require much time to apply or blend out. I made sure to include everything in this list from blurring face primer, to a comfortable lip product that doubles as a blush. And as a bonus, a lot of these products will look very familiar to you since I have used them in many tutorials and even reviewed them. That's always a great sign that I truly love a product. ;-)
Giorgio Armani Eye Tint review and today I have a tutorial using the Eye Tints. I actually didn't plan on doing a tutorial but I had so much leftover footage of me creating these two looks for my review. I honestly felt really bad to let the footage go to waste, so instead I decided to take that footage and create a tutorial showing you two very easy eye looks using the Eye Tints shades that I reviewed. The results are a simple everyday eye look and the easiest smokey eye imaginable. In the tutorials you'll be able to see how well the Eye Tints blend out and onto one another, which is one of the main reasons why I love them so much.
Giorgio Armani. I think everyone and their mothers has heard about the famous Luminous Silk Foundation by now, but I actually hadn't tried anything from the brand until very recently. My introduction to Giorgio Armani came in the form of the Eye Tints, the very long wearing and easy to use eyeshadows that come in two finishes. I absolutely love cream eyeshadows so you can only imagine how excited I was to try these babies out. And boy have I been testing them out! I've been wearing these shadows on long workdays and I even worn them to a concert last night. These very different to the other cream shadows that I've used in the past, that's for sure.
Travalo by now. If you're not familiar with Travalo, they're the company that revolutionized the way we travel with perfume. Gone are the days when you would try your best to collect samples of your favorite perfume, remember those days? How about the days when you would try to decant your perfume and have it leak inside your handbag? That actually happened to me a few times and it wasn't very fun (although my bag smelled very nice). I've been a huge Travalo fan for a few years now, in fact I actually own two of the Travalo Classic atomizers. My Travalo atomizers have traveled to many places and by now look a bit beat up, but recently I tried out the new fancy Travalo and this is how I feel about it.
Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in Supernova is easily one of my favorite makeup launches this year. You may remember my review on the Holographic Stick that I posted a few months ago, but today I'm going to be showing you a very simple tutorial incorporating the iridescent lavender highlight that I've been loving so damn much. I honestly never thought that I would go for a more funky highlight, but the Holographic Stick is surprisingly very wearable! You can use it to highlight your face, as an eyeshadow, and you can even apply a little on your lips to give them an icy look. Apart from using the Holographic Stick, I'm also going to be using a few new Milk Makeup products in this video.
Jaclyn Hill. I initially wasn't planning on recording this tag until I saw other people talking and actually using all their all-time favorite products in a tutorial. I found that version of the tag far more entertaining and helpful, so I decided to give it a go. This tag is a great way to find out what people's holy grail products are and how they look like when applied to the face. In my video you'll definitely see a lot of familiar products and some that I don't tend to show much on video but use a lot in my regular life.
Fur a few months ago to try one of their products out and I said "Yeah!" Look, I'm not embarrassed at all to talk about my vagina or public hair. I think the more we talk about it, the less it'll be considered a taboo subject. Plus, as a woman I feel the need to talk about subjects that could potentially be beneficial to my fellow ladies out there.
El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria in Old Town- I had to say yes! Food and styling a casual outfit? What's not to love? I decided to invite my mom to a casual lunch in Old Town and this is what I wore to our little mother-daughter lunch. You'll also get to see the "lunch of the day" which was really really great. You probably already heard me rave about the lunch if you follow me on Snapchat, but in case you didn't then you'll hear me rave about it in this post as well.
Top 5 Lip Balms video I got so many requests to make a tutorial on this particular makeup look. The requests even came pouring in on Snapchat and Instagram, so I sat down and recorded this simple look incorporating a bright pop of color. I know, it's the most cliché way to describe a makeup look but it's literally what it is in this case. If you're normally a bit scared to wear a bright color, then this is the perfect way to ease your way into more colorful looks. And if you're not a fan of purple, then you can apply this technique to literally any other color. You can switch up the color to blue, green, olive, maroon... I think you get the point. The best thing is that this makeup is super quick to do but it looks like it took a lot more effort.
Marc Jacobs always ranks very high on my list. Pretty much everything that I've tried from Marc Jacobs has been absolutely incredible and definitely worth the money. I've tried lipstick, eyeliners, contour powder, and even their eyeshadows- all expensive but very worth it. So you can only imagine how excited I was when the Air Blush launched very recently. Oh boy, I think I got a little too excited about a blush. The packaging itself is stunning and very sleek, and don't even get me started about the striped blush design. Now the Air Blush isn't exactly an affordable blush, in fact I think this is my most expensive blush in my entire makeup collection. Kind of crazy, huh? The one thing I asked myself when I started trying out the Air Blush was: "Is this blush even worth $42?" Well after weeks of trying it out I finally figured out the answer to that question.
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment and now that I've tried it, I know why people love it so damn much. In this post you'll be getting a ton of information about the products, as well as some very handy product demos.
Essence nail polish when I first saw it earlier this year because of how cheap it was. I mainly bought it just to test out the Essence nail polish formula and for less than $4 I said, why not? I was not expecting much out of this formula since it's so cheap, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the longevity of this particular nail polish formula. Not only is the color a beautiful nude, but the formula has remained chip-free for 5 days now. In this post I'm going to be sharing this affordable nude polish and I also want to let you in on my new favorite base coat! I think the base coat definitely deserves a lot of credit for keeping this nail polish practically glued to my nails.
Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer. Now this isn't a new product from Tarte, it's actually quite an old one but with all the recent launches it seems to have gotten lost in their lineup of products. This is quite different to my other BB creams because it's has a thicker formula and this is technically a tinted primer with 12-hour wear. I've been wearing the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer a lot recently and have been getting a lot of compliments on my skin on social media, so I figured that I would let all of you in on my secret weapon.
